Regional Conference on the Political Participation of Women and Non-Violent Elections
From UNIFEM: In April, the United Nations Development Fund for Women supported a 4 day conference in Burundi which focussed on the political participation of women and non-violence in elections. At the end of the conference, attendees from eleven African countries adopted a declaration to provide "recommendations to advance the role of women as political actors and agents of peace during election periods."
