Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy Receives NCRW Lifetime Achievement Award

At a special presentation on May 19th at NYU's Kimmel Center, the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy University of Massachusetts Boston received the NCRW Lifetime Achievement Award for its track record of advancing women into positions of leadership in state politics. Director Carol Hardy-Fanta said the award validated the scope and impact of her center's work.
"It is clear that the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy is a bastion of achievement and advancement for women in the state of Massachusetts and beyond," said NCRW Board Chair Lucie Lapovsky who presented the Award.
Legal Momentum Receives NCRW Advocacy Award

Legal Momentum was also honored for its outstanding advocacy, particularly its Women and Poverty Program that challenges inadequacies in public safety nets for low-income women, especially TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). Board Chair Lucie Lapovsky presented the Award to Legal Momentum's President Elizabeth Grayer and the coordinator of anti-poverty initiatives, senior staff attorney, Timothy Casey.

"You are not in the religion 'business,' you are in the transformation business," she told a rapt audience. Marie was also given the EPIC IMPACT Award from the organization she founded at The White House Project's 9th Annual Awards Dinner on April 11th. The EPIC Awards celebrate women who have strong leadership roles in media or popular culture. We agree that Marie is simply divine!
